新编《英语课程标准》和2002年《考试说明》都对英语的书面表达能力有基本的要求。要求学生根据情景写出百字左右的短文，其形式各异。根据以上的要求我们在平时的教学中采用了“‘六步法’的写作模式”，收到了良好的效果。
例三、请根据以下提示，用英语写一篇介绍香港的短文，词数100字左右。
香港位于中国的东南部，面积1045平方公里，人口600多万，被称为“东方明珠”。1842年鸦片战争后，当时的中国政府被迫将香港割让给英国。现在她已经回到祖国的怀抱，而且前景会更加美好。
