Few 也可表示肯定

大家都知道，few 可以作名词，出可以作形容词，意思是“很少”、
“几乎没有”，表示否定含义。而a few 的意思是“少数”、“有几分”，
表示肯定含义。如：
Mary has few friends. 玛丽几乎没有朋友。
Mary has a few friends. 玛丽有几个朋友。
但在下列几种情况下，few 可表示肯定含义。
一、当形容词last，next 和few 一起连用时：
1.In the last few years there have been great changes in my
home town. 在最近几年里，我们家乡发生了巨大变化。
2. In the last few months，she lived a happy life.
在最后的几个月里，她一直过着快乐的生活。
3.Kate could take good care of her mother for the next few weeks.
接下去的几周凯特能很好地照顾她母亲。
二、当不定代词some，other 与few 一起连用时：
1. They played basketball some few hours that day.
那天他们打了几个小时的篮球。
2. The other few children also went to the cinema last Sunday.
上个星期天，另外几个孩子也去看了电影。
三、当形容词性物主代词或名词所有格和few 一起连用时：
1. My few friends like to go out for a walk after supper.
我的几个朋友喜欢晚饭后散步。
2. She lost her few books yesterday.
她昨天丢了几本书。
3. Tom’s few classmates often help him with his English. 汤
姆的几个同学时常帮助他学习英语。
四、当序数词first 与few 连用时：
In the first few days he enjoyed himself very much.
在起初的几天里，他过得很愉快。
